Lindsay Vonn wins Super-G in Tarvisio

Vonn also secured the discipline ranking with victory in the Super-G. On Friday and Saturday she had already won the crystal balls in the station wagon and downhill in Tarvisio. There was no question of their supremacy in today's race. With a flawless ride, she relegated her teammate Julia Mancuso and her long-term rival in the overall World Cup Maria Riesch to places.

Elena Fanchini finished 14th as the best of the Italian team. Directly behind her was Johanna Schnarf in the final ranking. Compared to Saturday's descent, she showed a strong improvement in performance, but ultimately had to accept a gap of 1,28 seconds to the day's winner. The second South Tyrolean Verena Stuffer also showed improvement, being 25th to collect World Cup points.
