South Tyrol's young skiers show off

Some races had to be canceled last weekend due to weather. But where there was skiing, South Tyrol's young skiers were once again able to show strong performances.

At the national level, Max Perathoner was convincing. The newly crowned junior downhill world champion came second in his category in the same discipline at the Italian Championships in La Thuile (Aosta). Emanuel Lamp (Gsies) took fifth place. In the under-18s, however, Luis Schuster (Kronplatz Ski Team) was able to celebrate the silver medal.

Meanwhile, the ski ladies were in action in Folgaria and competed in a slalom, which counts towards the Gran Premio Italia classification. Here, two local talents, Selina Trafoier (2nd/Ulten) and Eva Blasbichler (3rd/TZ Gitschberg Jochtal), climbed onto the podium.

The Raiffeisen Grand Prix State Cup continued on Friday with a Super-G “veloce” for the U16 age group (Allievi). The skiing took place in Sarntal on the Schöneben piste, where two women's European Cup races (also Super-G) will take place in around three weeks. Among the young women, Arianna Putzer from Val Gardena won in 1.08,64:XNUMX minutes.

Victoria Klotz from Ritten took second place (1.09,87), more than a second behind, while Emma Pezzedi (Ski Team Alta Badia) took third place, 2,12 seconds behind. Among the boys of the same age, the day's victory went to Giacomo Ploner (Ski Team Alta Badia/1.08,26) ahead of Matthias Mahlknecht (Gröden/+0,14) and Nicola Zampedri (AS Merano/+0,22).
