The Athesia Cup in Senales attracted great interest last weekend, as two giant slaloms and two parallel slaloms were held. Meanwhile, the Masters were in action in Obereggen, while the state squad athletes were also successful nationally.

A giant slalom race was held on the Lazaun slope as part of the Athesia Cup, in which over 350 young racers took part. In the U16 age group (Allievi), Victoria Klotz (Ritten Sport) won among the young women with a total time of 1.55,12:1.56,04 minutes. She relegated Arianna Putzer from Val Gardena (1.57,91:XNUMX) and Sophie Schweigl (Kronplatz Ski Team/XNUMX:XNUMX) to the places of honor.

Among the boys of the same age, Christian Kostner (Ski Club Gröden/1.55,27) won by a large margin ahead of Giacomo Ploner (Ski Team Alta Badia/1.57,04) and Dylan Pirini (Seiser Alm/1.57,98). In the U14 age group (Ragazzi), the day's victory went to Amy Happacher (Drei Zinnen Dolomites/2.10,49). Francesca Miribung (Ski Team Alta Badia/2.10,81) and Nika Kerschbaumer (Seiser Alm/2.12,26) completed the podium. Pascal Kostner from Val Gardena achieved the best time of the day for the young boys (2.06,48) and won ahead of Simon Kaser (Seiser Alm/2.07,19) and Samuel Prantl from Ultimo (2.08,56).

Thrilling decisions in the parallel slalom

In addition, two parallel slaloms were held at the Glockenlift, which were hard to beat in terms of excitement. Here in the U16 category, Victoria Klotz was once again unbeatable, defeating Nicole Piccolruaz (Gröden Ski Club) in the final. Sophie Schweigl took third place, losing out to Petra Dander (TZ Jochtal-Gitschberg) in the “small final”. Nicola Zampedri won the young men's final and relegated Giacomo Ploner (Alta Badia) to second place. David Angerer (Seiser Alm) was able to assert himself in the duel for third place against Leon Schöpf (Vinschger Oberland).

In the U14 age group, Nika Kerschbaumer won the final against Denise Demetz (Gröden Ski Club), while Magdalena Stofner (ASV Welschnofen) won the “small final” against Benedetta Sardi (ASV Alta Badia). Michael Thaler from Sarn won the day in the U14 young men's category by beating Samuel Gruber (Seiser Alm) in the final. In the purely Val Gardena fight for third place, Mattia Vinatzer had the better end against Laurin Delucca.

Strong results in the Gran Premio Italia series

Nadine Trocker (Seiser Alm) was able to record a respectable success in the giant slalom at the Gran Premio Italia in Sestriere. The 16-year-old achieved 1.45,53th time in 18:18 minutes, but took second place in the U18 (Aspiranti) age group. On the same day, Simon Lochmann from the Vigiljoch Ski Club won an FIS downhill run in Santa Caterina Valfurva. Emanuel Lamp (ASC Gsiesertal) took fourth place and came second in the Gran Premio Italia U24 classification. Lamp's teammate Jonas Feichter was happy about second place in the U18 Gran Premio Italia category in the Super-G XNUMX hours later.
