Podium in Kvitfjell: Paris pulls it off

On Saturday, Dominik Paris made a serious mistake in the descent from Kvitfjell on the way to a possible victory and had to settle for 18th place in the end. The next day this was forgotten because Paris made amends in the Super-G.

Dominik Paris and Kvitfjell: It remains a love affair. The Ultner had already won four times in the Norwegian ski resort. This Sunday, the 34-year-old achieved his 3th Kvitfjell podium with a 6rd place in Super-G. On the shortened route (there would have been too much fog in the upper part of the route), Paris showed an almost flawless ride and demonstrated once again that he currently feels very comfortable on his skis.

In the end, Paris only had to admit defeat to winner Vincent Kriechmayr and Canadian Jeffrey Read (+0,17). The South Tyrolean was only 19 hundredths slower than Kriechmayr, who celebrated his 18th World Cup victory. Paris shared 3rd place with Marco Odermatt, who was equally fast and landed on the podium for the first time ever in Kvitfjell.

In any case, Paris was in the target interview ORF happy: “It was a solid ride. The lower part wasn't that good, but otherwise I'm very satisfied. I struggled for so long to get a good placement in the Super-G. I wasn't angry about yesterday's departure. It was a stupid mistake. You should only rest at the finish and not halfway there.” So Paris was in a good mood and was in the mood to joke again.

Guglielmo Bosca (6th), Pietro Zazzi (6th) and Mattia Casse (10th) rounded off a strong result for the Azzurri. Christof Innerhofer also had a solid ride. The Pusterer took 19th place. The ski men will continue next weekend with two technical races in Palisades Tahoe, USA.
