With the new ski dream couple: shark alarm in paradise

The ski season has been shelved, and now one thing is on the agenda for many athletes: vacation. There were also one or two amusing encounters for a new ski couple.

Over the course of last season it became official: Stephanie Venier and Christian Walder are the new dream couple in Austria's ski scene. A love that made waves - also because Walder had previously been in a relationship with Venier's teammate Cornelia Hütter for years.

After the ski season, Venier (she is one of the big stars in the World Cup) and Walder (92 World Cup races, one podium finish) can now spend a lot of time together for the first time. A few days ago they were guests on the red carpet in Innsbruck, where the downhill skier was named Tyrolean athlete of the year. A little later, the two skiers said goodbye to the Alps and flew to paradise.

Suddenly it's all sharks

Venier and Walder are not yet revealing where exactly. To do this, they posted some photos and videos of picturesque beach and sea landscapes in which they recharge their batteries. Right at the start of the romantic vacation, the ski duo also got an animal eye-catcher.



Venier, who had two victories this year, posted a video that showed a veritable pack of sharks in the sea. “What a warm welcome,” added the former downhill vice world champion with a winking emoji (and from a safe distance, of course). Otherwise, the ski couple's plan is to relax and enjoy before training for the new season can begin.
