Junior World Championships: Christoph Pircher is making people sit up and take notice

The mass starts took place on Thursday at the Junior Biathlete World Championships in Otepää (Estonia). Christoph Pircher showed this.

The Terlan native only missed once in 4 shootings and secured his best result to date with 7th place. Gold, silver and bronze went to Norway – led by Sivert Herhardsen. Pircher lost almost a minute to the winner. The second South Tyrolean, Felix Ratschiller, reached 34th place with two errors.


In the women's junior category, Germany's Julia Kink won gold. Linda Zingerle had to settle for 5nd place with 42 errors. In the youth category, however, the Italian Carlotta Gautero was able to celebrate bronze.

IBU Cup in Obertilliach

Parallel to the Youth and Junior World Championships, an IBU Cup is currently taking place in Obertilliach. David Zingerle finished 12th in the sprint on Thursday. In the women's race, Birgit Schölzhorn came 50th in East Tyrol.
