The biathlon world is looking forward to this comeback

The Biathlon World Cup is currently in its long “summer break”. Next winter, a top athlete will make her comeback on the big stage.

Paulina Fialkova skipped last season – for good reason. The Slovakian became a mother for the first time. On Bright Evening - almost 4 months ago - the time had come: little Romana was born. This Friday, Fialkova announced her comeback for the coming season on social media.

“Hello dear friends and sports fans. As many of you know, I didn't manage to end my sporting career forever in March 2023. But I knew I needed a change and it came in the most beautiful form. I've been resting a lot over the last year, both physically and mentally. I have gained some distance from biathlon. To my surprise, I started missing training and competing. The thought of returning to top-class sport appeared more and more often in my head,” Fialkova wrote in her post.

“I will do my best, but my daughter will always come first,” the 31-year-old completed her post. Many former companions are looking forward to Fialkova's comeback, whose sister Ivona was also active in the Biathlon World Cup. Paulina herself was on the podium a total of 9 times. Now the scene is looking forward to the return of the dashing Slovakian. And who knows: Maybe the new mother will make a comeback similar to that of the Frenchwoman Justine Braisaz-Bouchet this winter.
