Marion Oberhofer and Andrea Vötter can celebrate again.

South Tyrol's women's doubles booked the podium

Last year, Andrea Vötter and Marion Oberhofer won the overall World Cup in the newly founded women's doubles event. This Saturday the two South Tyroleans showed their best performance this winter.

Vötter/Oberhofer are extremely consistent. After placing third, fourth and third, they ended up in second place in Winterberg. They were only beaten by the Germans Jessica Degenhardt/Cheyenne Roesenthal. Despite a driving error, the duo prevailed on Saturday with a lead of 2 thousandths of a second over Vötter/Oberhofer. For the 24-year-old Degenhardt and the 21-year-old Rosenthal, it was the second win of the season after their success in Whistler, Canada.

The Austrians Seline Egle and Lara Michaela Kipp came third (0,044 seconds behind) ahead of fourth-placed Dajana Eitberger and Saskia Schirmer. Egle and Kipp are still in the lead in the overall World Cup. Degenhardt and Rosenthal are now second. After their third podium finish, Vötter and Oberhofer are in fourth place. But there are still eight races to be completed.
