The Cavs tested against the Heilbronn Falcons on Saturday.

The Cavs are defeated by Heilbronn

The Unterland Cavaliers were in demand in the semifinals against the Heilbronner Falken as part of the Niemeier Cup in Deggendorf (Germany). After a good performance, there was still a 1:4 defeat against the DEL2 relegated team.

The Cavs started the game well, impressed with their commitment and high tempo and thus put their opponents under pressure. Nevertheless, it was the Heilbronner Falken who quickly took a 2-0 lead. Furthermore, a number of penalty minutes took the pace out of the game and gave the strong team from Heilbronn the opportunity to extend their lead twice.

In the second third, the Unterlanders created a number of good chances, but were unable to beat Patrick Berger in the Falken goal. The South Tyroleans showed morale and continued to fight for every puck, but the Falcons managed to extend the lead to 3-0. In the middle of the third third, Mischa Sullmann scored a well-deserved goal to make it 3-3. But Heilbronn made it 1-4 after the Cavs' final offensive with an empty-net goal.

Nevertheless, it was a performance with heart from the Alps team, who met the DEL2 relegated team in a fast-paced match at eye level.
