HC Pustertal started the pre-season successfully on Sunday evening in front of more than 1600 fans. The many newcomers left a good impression on the Bruneck team against DEL club Iserlohn.

In the first preparatory game, the Wolves celebrated a 2-1 shootout win against the Iserlohn Roosters, who are currently preparing for the new season in Kitzbühel. Two HCP newcomers won the game: After Mikael Frycklund took the early lead, Rick Schofield decided the penalty shootout in favor of the ICE club.

HC Pustertal got off to a perfect start in front of a very impressive crowd, with Frycklund deflecting a shot from Althuber unstoppably to take the lead in the first minute. As a result, a pleasant game developed with chances for both sides. In the 12th minute, Colin Ugbekile scored 1-1 after a nice individual effort. After that, the guests from Sauerland got better and missed the lead with a Ziegler crossbar.

In the end the score remained 1-1 until the end of regular time. In overtime, Pustertal goalie Smith stood out a few times, the home team's best chance was missed by top newcomer Jason Akeson. So the penalty shootout had to decide, here the Wolves had the upper hand after goals from Frycklund and Schofield.

The Wolves' pre-season program continues next Friday (19.45:XNUMX p.m.) with the home game against German second division club Freiburg Wölfe.
