A constant at HC Bozen

HCB Südtirol Alperia officially announced on Friday evening that the contract with assistant coach Fabio Armani had been extended. It is the fifth year in a row for the Trentino native, who will be supporting the new head coach Niklas Sundlbad this year.

Armani has been working with the sports directorate on the composition of the team throughout the summer and is now in the Corvara training camp with the cracks. He is an integral part of the white and red coaching team because he plays a crucial role in selecting players and supporting young players.

The Trentino native came to the Talferstadt in 2019. After a long career as a player, he decided to become a coach and has coached the teams of Pontebba, Valpellice and Pergine. Over the years he has also held the position of head coach of the Italian national team U18 and was promoted to assistant coach of the senior national team in 2022 on the occasion of the World Championships of the first division Group A.

“The season that ended a few months ago was excellent from several points of view, despite the bitter end,” explained Armani. “It is certainly a great advantage that the majority of the team has been confirmed again for the upcoming season. But we are starting from scratch again and it now depends on us to ensure that the goals we have set are achieved. The new players have to be integrated and we have to continue what we have done so far and integrate the philosophy of our new coach. A tough season awaits us, with a lot of games, so the work these days in Corvara is very important. Above all, we have to be physically fit,” concluded Armani.
