Iserlohn asks wolves for the first test

This Sunday the Iserlohn Roosters from the DEL will be playing in Pustertal at 18 p.m. For the HCP it is the first test game of the new ICE season.

Since August 4th, people have been sweating and working again in the Intercable Arena in Bruneck. On this day, HC Pustertal's season preparations officially began. Things will get serious for the first time this Sunday (18 p.m.) as soon as the Iserlohn Roosters from the DEL visit Bruneck. The German team should give the coaching team and fans the first information as to whether the initial approaches in the preseason are already bearing fruit. It is the first test in a series of very interesting preparation games.

Iserlohn, the club from Seilersee, attracted attention in the 1987s through scandals and bankruptcies. In XNUMX, the Sauerlanders caused an international stir through a sponsorship agreement with the Libyan revolutionary leader Muammar al-Gaddafi. After just one game with the “Green Book” on the jersey, the league leadership stopped the controversial deal - in order to forestall a ban by the Federal Court of Justice - and Iserlohn slipped into bankruptcy.

The club consolidated in the 90s and since 2000 the Roosters have been part of the German ice hockey upper echelon. However, last season was a sobering one for the team with the rooster on its chest. As 13th of fifteen teams in the German upper house, Iserlohn was far from having any playoff hopes. That should change in the coming season.

By the way: New Wolf Alex Petan will then meet his former team from 2019/20.
