Painful exit: Pustertal lets the bad boy go

The HC Pustertal season has long been over, but squad planning is in full swing. On Tuesday, the Wolves announced a departure that hurts HCP's heart.

On Saturday, HC Pustertal made its exit from offensive defender Joel Messner known. Three days later, the Wolves said goodbye to their next defender: Christian Kasastul will no longer wear the Black and Yellows jersey next season.

While Messner's departure is manageable (he didn't quite live up to expectations), Kasastul's departure is painful. The Norwegian, who was the first player from his country to play for HC Pustertal, was one of the positive discoveries of the season and, along with Arvin Atwal, the Black and Yellows' best defender.

Passionate fighter

The 1,79 meter tall Scandinavian didn't shy away from anything or anyone. Whether it was a tough duel on the boards, trash talk on the ice or a boxing match – Kasastul always stood his ground. With 75 penalty minutes, he was the baddest boy on his team and won the fans' favor thanks to his great fighting spirit. That's why there were quite a few people who would have wanted Kasastul in Brunico for the coming season. However, the Norwegian's departure is now a reality.
