INL: Neumarkt wins 6:5 in Feldkirch

Neumarkt scored three important points in the fight for a play-off place in front of 1517 spectators in Feldkirch. The “Wild Geese” prevailed after a very even match with 6:5 goals. Neumarkt got off to a better start and took a 13-2 lead with Christian Willeit and Hannes Walter after 0 minutes. Patrick Maier was able to reduce the score to 1:2 straight away, but Alex Sullmann restored the two-goal lead before the first period break. In the middle third Martin Tomasek first scored the 2:3, then Steve Pelletier scored for the Unterlandler for the fourth time. The final third was hard to beat in terms of tension. Daniel Fekete led Feldkirch closer again, then Neumarkt pulled away to 6:3 with two goals from Pelletier and Jimmy Kilpatrick. But the Vorarlbergers didn't give up and with Marc Colleoni and Diethard Winzig they came within 5:6. However, it was no longer enough to equalize and Nemarkt celebrated its fifth championship victory in a row.

Meran defeats Lustenau after extra time

Merano also showed a strong performance. The Passerstädter defeated Lustenau 4.33-5 with a goal from Thomas Mitterer in the 4 minute of extra time. It was an incredible game. Meran immediately took a 3-0 lead: Daniele Delladio, Flavio Faggioni and Taggart Desmet scored for the hosts. Then Lustenau came up trumps and equalized with Olli Julkunen, Emil Lahti and Julkunen again in the 47.03 minute. Six minutes before the end of the game, Franz Josef Plank made it 4:3 for the Merano team, but just three minutes later the Austrians equalized again to make it 4:4, this time with Toni Saarinen. So the encounter went into extra time. 27 seconds before the end of the game, Thomas Mitterer finally decided the match for the Merano team, who were able to assert themselves against Lustenau for the second time in this championship.

Val Gardena also has to serve detention against Kranj

Val Gardena celebrated the third South Tyrolean victory this evening. However, the Ladins had more trouble against Kranj than expected and only won 3-2 after extra time. The star of the evening was the league's top scorer, Dylan Stanley. The 29-year-old Canadian scored all three of Val Gardena's goals. After 23 championship games, he already has 20 goals and 28 assists to his name.
