INL: Slovenia was worth the trip - Eppan loses the top game

The top game of the round took place in Zell am See, where the Eisbären and HC Eppan faced each other. In front of more than 1500 spectators, the two INL teams fought a thrilling battle and played with their sights open. Veggiato gave the Überetscher the lead in the starting third, which Petr Vala equalized five minutes later. After that, both teams cleverly neutralized each other and allowed very little. But a goal still came, in the final third. In the 53rd minute, Jakob Lainer scored to make it 2-1 for Zell am See. That was the decision in favor of the hosts.

The remaining four South Tyrolean teams were on the ice in Slovenia. HC Meran was the only local club in Jesenice that had to work overtime. It was Philipp Beber who gave the Eagles victory against the Slovenians with his golden goal in the third minute of extra time. Curious: The template for this came from David Turon, of all people, who played for the Passerstadt team for the last time in Jesenice. His place is now taken by Canadian attacker David Laliberté, who also played eleven times in the NHL in his career.

The new leader in the INL is Feldkirch. The Vorarlbergers have taken over command of HC Gröden.
