INL: Weekend program starts with Überetscher Derby

Although Pirates and Hechte are separated by 20 points in the table, you can't name a favorite before a derby. Because duels between rival neighbors simply have their own rules. The fact that the people of Eppan are fighting for sole leadership of the table in the long-distance duel with Zell am See, while the people of Kaltern are “only” in eleventh place in the table, does not change this. In addition, the previous direct duels between the Überetsch clubs were very exciting and offered a few surprises.

Eppan and Kaltern have already faced each other twice this season. On October 18th, Mendelson's team won the duel with Andergassen & Co. 4:2. This match counted for both the INL and Serie A2. Less than a month later, on November 13th, the Hechte won the second duel against the Pirates 1-0. The decisive factor was a converted penalty from Lorenz Röggl. However, this match only counted for the second Italian championship.

Kaltern is currently in good shape. The Carrol team brought down leader Zell am See last weekend. It is precisely Zell am See that the Pirates want to leave behind in the table and take sole lead in the table with a win against Kaltern.

Top game in Neumarkt

Another derby for Eppan

On Sunday the Pirates will have their second South Tyrolean derby within 21 hours as part of the 48st round, namely against HC Gherdeina. These two domestic clubs are facing each other for the third time this season. The Ladins prevailed both times, namely 4:3 and 3:0. Kaltern faces Laibach on Sunday, Neumarkt welcomes Bled. Meanwhile, Merano is a guest at Kranj.

INL: Weekend program starts with Überetscher Derby

The 20th round of the cross-border championship INL with teams from Austria, Slovenia and South Tyrol begins on Friday evening with the Überetscher derby Eppan against Kaltern. Games are also played on Saturday and Sunday.
