WSV Vipiteno – HC Neumarkt

The Broncos, who had Sottsas available again, and the guests from the lower country fought a thrilling duel on equal terms, in which both teams initially treated their chances too carelessly. Even with two more men on the ice, the score remained zero on both sides. It wasn't until the 29th minute that Jason Walters broke the spell. He gave Wild-Goose-Golie Tragust the losing end of a tussle. Then Broncos crack Kofler failed at the post. However, Neumarkt didn't give up and equalized in the 53rd minute. Pelletier put the hard rubber disc into the net and sent both teams into overtime. After this goalless period, Walters gave WSV Vipiteno their opening victory in the penalty shootout.

HC Eppan – SG Cortina

The Pirates take a 1-0 lead in the series with Cortina thanks to a strong performance from their special team. It was the guests from Belluno who scored the first goal of the evening in the person of Dingle. The Überetscher, where defender Lacroix played in front of their home crowd for the first time, showed a strong reaction and made it 1-1 through Waldner. This was just a foretaste of what was to follow after the first break: Vallerand and Peruzzo made it 3-1 within a short time with their power-play goals. Cortina came close again (Vallini directed the puck into his own goal), but Eppan took off again in the next power play. It was Hazen who scored the fourth powerplay goal of the evening and led the Pirates to victory. The Ampezzanians were only able to reduce the score to 3:4 in the final third.

HC Gherdeina – SHC Fassa

The “Furie” immediately tried to play it safe in the duel with their ex-coach Erwin Kostner and pushed in front of the opposing goal from the start. This resulted in Eastman taking the lead in the fifth minute. In the first period, Newton increased the lead to 2-0 with a powerful long-range shot. However, the Ladin team's hunger for goals was not yet satisfied, as Eastman scored again in the middle section and further extended their lead. Fassa player Da Tos was able to make it 1:3, but there was no more tension. Also because Luomala made everything clear with Val Gardena's fourth goal in the 48th minute.
