Bruneck shooting festival: Now the top teams are challenged

With a furious second half, SSV Bruneck made its presence known in the state league title race and at the same time sent a very strong signal to the west of the country.

SSV Bruneck made up for a two-time deficit against SC Passeier, who were in serious danger of relegation, and ultimately won 6-2. This means that he leaves SSV Naturns behind in the table and comes within one point of leader Partschins - at least temporarily. The competitors from Lower Vinschgau will only be in action on Sunday. At the same time, Bruneck sealed Passeier's relegation.

In the Reiperting sports zone in Reischach, Dominik Brunner and Noah Pixner put the initially strong guests in front twice, but Fabian Unterhuber equalized each time. In the last 25 minutes of the game, the Pusterers really turned up the heat: First Jonas Happacher hit the crossbar, then Matthias Elzenbaumer took the lead for Bruneck for the first time. As a result, Maximilian Hofer and double goalscorer Marian Rigo increased the result.

Only home wins on Saturday

In addition to promotion hopefuls Bruneck, the two midfield teams Schenna and St. Martin Moos as well as bottom team Albeins also celebrated a home win on this state league Saturday. The Burggräfler defeated Latsch, who were strong away from home (the last four wins in a row away from home) 3-1, with Alex Mair becoming the match winner with two goals.

The Psairers won 2-0 against SV Milland, who had now been winless for four rounds. Although Moritz Tschöll missed a penalty in the early stages, he made up for his miss before the break with a goal to make the final score 2-0. Elia Margoni had already hit the mark before.

Albeins, who had been relegated, also achieved a notable success on Saturday evening. Damian Fanani scored a flawless hat trick to make it 3-1 against seventh-placed Gitschberg Jochtal. The guests took a 1-0 lead, but were then overrun by the outsiders with ten men (Simon Mair saw red).
