Partschinser master emotions: “Tears flowed”

After the state league championship title, the footballers from Partschins were completely over the moon. We captured the reactions.

While his teammates stormed onto the field after the final whistle, Daniel Lanthaler remained on the bench for a few seconds. The striker, the scored the decisive 2-1 goal for his Partschinsers against St. Martin Moos and was substituted shortly before the end, the situation had to be allowed to sink in. One or two tears rolled down his cheek. “There were tears today. “It’s really emotional,” says “Lanthi,” who was overwhelmed by one thing in particular. “I became champion twice in my career, both times with my brother Maximilian. First at St. Martin, now at Partschins. That’s really special.”

It's a special moment for Daniel Lanthaler, who is one of the best snappers in the state league this year with 15 goals. And also a special place. The championship title was sealed in St. Martin – that is, on the football field where Lanthaler grew up. The exceptional striker scored 124 goals in his career for the “Mortiner” and has now made his home in Partschins because of his love.

And there, too, Lanthaler produces doors like on an assembly line. But even the experienced striker wouldn't have expected that it would be enough for the top league. “Other people were favorites. At the start of the championship we weren't quite a team, but we've grown from week to week. Often it’s not the big stars that are needed, but a unified team effort to achieve success.”

The midfield engine sees it similarly Olaf Stark, who also discusses the planned celebrations in the following video interview.

For Dominik Schnitzer the national league title is a very special moment. The 31-year-old captain is something of a veteran of Partschins and has been in the first team since he was 16 years old.
