Regional tournament: All South Tyrolean teams are eliminated

The last day of group play at the regional tournament in Chiavari (Liguria) took place on Monday. Afterwards it was clear: South Tyrol's teams could all pack together.

In the earlier hours, the exit of South Tyrol's U15 and U17 teams was sealed. In the afternoon the women and the U19s were hit, although the junior selection had no chance beforehand.

But first things first: The women's team didn't get beyond a 1-1 draw against Veneto on Monday. Because Emilia Romagna won 2-0 at the same time, the South Tyroleans' elimination was sealed. As in the previous year, the local women failed in the group phase due to goal difference. Jana Zipperle gave South Tyrol the lead with a penalty after 25 minutes. In the 79th minute, Veneto equalized.

Junior captain David Zischg in an interview:

South Tyrol's U19 team said goodbye with another defeat. The Nicoletti team narrowly lost 1-0 against Veneto. The South Tyroleans only conceded the goal 10 minutes before the end. Hannes Larcher then received a yellow-red card.
