It is extremely rare for a South Tyrolean footballer to be named player of the week twice within one season. The density of local kickers who deliver outstanding performances week after week is too high. One player has been the exception since Sunday. Even if Martin Ritsch's unforgettable afternoon had a downside.

“On Sunday everything just dawned on me and I was lucky enough to get it right four times,” explains Martin Ritsch. And even though the conversation takes place over the telephone, it doesn't take much imagination to imagine that the St. Georgen player will have a big grin crossing his face when he hears these words. Nevertheless: His gala performance against Tramin also had a bitter side.
