Pogba's B sample also came back positive. His career now hangs by a thread. A counter-analysis was carried out on Thursday at the Acqua Acetosa laboratory in Rome. As the Journal of Sport and the Corriere dello Sport report, the mandatory B test does not exonerate the 2018 world champion. A positive result was detected for the first time on August 20th following Juventus' game against Udinese Calcio.

Pogba now faces a long ban. Further information about the upcoming procedure is not yet known, but the possible maximum penalty is four years of disqualification. In other words: The 30-year-old is unlikely to play a game in professional football for a long time. According to reports, Juve will try to terminate the high-paying contract with Pogba early. This runs until summer 2026.

For Juventus and the player himself, the return of the former super talent increasingly turned into a nightmare.
