Field service | Sgarbi and Wieser take revenge for Davi

In its “Field Service” section, the SportNews editorial team takes a closer look at the deployments of those South Tyrolean soccer professionals who play outside of their home country’s borders. This time the focus is on the playoffs in Serie C.

Three South Tyroleans are currently in the playoff phase of Serie C and one is in the playout phase. I had to Federico Davi, the little brother of FCS defender Simone Davi, played in the playoffs with Arzignano in the first round on Thursday. After the 0-0 draw against Renate, Arzignano was already eliminated and Davì played through.

In the second round, Renate had to go back on the field on Saturday to play the second round against Pro Sesto. At Pro Sesto we are with you David Wieser and Lorenzo Sgarbi two South Tyroleans on duty. While the latter played until the 76th minute, Wieser had to sit on the bench for the entire game. Nevertheless, he has a reason to be happy, because thanks to the 1-1 draw, Pro Sesto can continue to play for promotion to Serie B and at the same time has taken revenge for Davi and Renate.

There's bad news for in the playouts Simone Zanon. The Bolzano player was relegated back to Serie D with Sangiuliano City. His team lost 1-2 against Triestina and has to return to the fourth Italian league. Zanon played for 82 minutes.

South Tyrolean duel in Serie B

There was a South Tyrolean duel in Serie B at the weekend. ManuelDigger played with Brescia against Emanuele Zuelli and Pisa. The game ended 1-1, both South Tyroleans also got playing time, but never met on the pitch. Because Zuelli was substituted in the 59th minute and Scavone came on in the 78th minute. Dimitri Bisoli, the son of FCS coach Pierpaolo Bisoli, scored the 1-0 win for Brescia.

Scores in Serie A Manuel DeLuca with Sampdoria on Monday at Empoli. But the result is no longer particularly important for the team from Genoa, as they have been relegated for a long time.

Max Reinthaler dreams of relegation

There are also some South Tyrolean professionals working beyond the Italian borders. Two play in the German 3rd league, one could even be promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga this year. Max Reinthaler from Algund is in the middle of the fight for a promotion or relegation place with Wehen Wiesbaden. After the 2-1 win at the weekend against Verl - Reinthaler played through - his Wiesbadners are in 4th place, level on points with third-party Dynamo Dresden and just one point behind Freiburg II.

Plays at SV Meppen Luke Mazagg another South Tyrolean. He had a derby against VfL Osnabrück on the agenda at the weekend. The game ended 2-2, Mazagg came on as a substitute in the 84th minute. However, the injured man was not in the squad Simon Straud at Austria Klagenfurt in the Austrian Bundesliga, where the game against Sturm Graz was 90:1 after 4 minutes.
