FCS motor is running at full speed

FC Südtirol continues to march towards Serie B. Another hurdle was overcome on Wednesday against Giana Erminio. The white and red defeated the home team 2-0 and were briefly 11 points ahead of their closest rival Padova, who, however, won against Lecco in the evening and reduced the gap to 8 points.

FC Südtirol started like the fire department. Raphael Odogwu in particular was repeatedly dangerous in front of the Lombard goal and also always offered himself as a safe pass in the middle of the opposing defense. Once he had the ball, he rarely lost it to the opponent and was always able to pass it off to his strike partners Daniele Casiraghi and Matteo Rover. The latter in particular had a brilliant day and played Giana's defense dizzy on the flanks, with the winger only missing a goal in the end. Captain Fabian Tait scored the first goal in the 38th minute, tirelessly crowning his strong performance with his second goal of the season. In addition, the defense was again in top form and rarely allowed coach Matteo Contini's men to threaten FCS goalkeeper Giacomo Poluzzi's goal. Giana was toothless, especially in the second half. The FCS took advantage of this superiority and Filippo De Col smashed the ball into the goal to make the final score 2-2.

The FCS is now 8 points ahead in the table after Padova also won 2-1 against Lecco. And yet the white and reds are fully on track with their Serie B mission with 13 match days to go. Another pursuer already made a mistake. Renate lost 0-2 at home against AlbinoLeffe and is now 17 points behind in 3rd place. On Sunday the 28th matchday continues for FC Südtirol at 14.30 p.m. against Pro Patria.
