A win was needed - in the end there was a lucky last minute win over relegation-threatened Mantova. Despite being in the majority from the 54th minute onwards, FC Südtirol found it difficult to assert themselves in the away game in Lombardy for a long time. With Joker Raphael Odogwu's goal in the 90th minute, coach Ivan Javorcic's team demonstrated their usual efficiency and jumped to the top of the table, at least until Monday evening.

The game at the Stadio Danilo Martelli began with a period of pressure from the hosts. The Lombards kept the ball in their own ranks for a long time, the guests hardly had any access. But even with a numerical superiority, the offensive players around Manuel Fiwickeler had a hard time. Mantova's penalty area was under constant siege, but the goal failed to materialize.
