The 32nd matchday of the Serie C championship (Group B) takes place on Sunday. FC Südtirol welcomes one of the most traditional clubs in Italian football to the Drususstadion: Lanerossi Vicenza.

Coach Paolo Zanetti's boys are currently in 2th place in the table, only 3 points behind 5rd Feralpisalò. At home, the FCS scored 24 of the total 49 points: 6 wins, 6 draws and 3 defeats, according to the interim balance. The defense around veteran Kévin Vinetot has only allowed 23 goals this season. The FCS therefore has the strongest defense in Group B behind Fermana.

Vicenza got 20 of the total 40 points in away games: 5 wins, 5 draws and 5 defeats, according to the visitors' interim balance.

In The Field: Coach Zanetti will also have to do without the two injured defenders Fabio Della Giovanna and Marco Crocchianti against Vicenza.

The opponent: Lanerossi Vicenza Virtus, based in Vicenza, was founded in the summer of 2018 by Renzo Rosso, president of Bassano Calcio. The boss of the fashion company Diesel took over the insolvent club Vicenza Calcio and merged it with his Serie C club Bassano. The new team, called Vicenza for short, consists primarily of players from last year's teams Vicenza and Bassano.

Vicenza's announced goal for the season is to take part in the play-offs. The current 9th place in the table would meet this objective. Coach Giovanni Colella is in charge at Vicenza. The 52-year-old trainer started this year's season with Vicenza, but was relieved of his position at the end of December. However, after his successor Michele Serena announced his resignation around a month ago, Colella was brought back to the coaching bench. Last weekend Vicenza lost 0-2 to second-placed Triestina. In the previous two matches, Vicenza secured an important draw against Imolese and a 4-1 away win against Sambendettese.

Vicenza has scored 34 times and conceded 32 goals so far this season. The team's top scorer is Stefano Giacomelli (10 goals).

The signings of Marco Martin (Feralpisalò), Simone Salviato (Padova), Andrea Bovo (Venezia) and Simone Guerra (Feralpisalò) have significantly strengthened the squad in the winter transfer phase.

The previous encounters: So far there have been five meetings between the two teams: FCS left the pitch as winners four times and Vicenza was able to celebrate once.

The first leg: The first leg in the Romeo Menti Stadium (November 24th) ended with an emotional 4-2 win for the South Tyroleans, with four different FCS kickers - De Cenco, Turchetta, Fabbri and Costantino - getting on the scoresheet.

The “Ex” of the game: Vicenza is full-back Marco Martin (156 appearances and 6 goals for the FCS), goalkeeper Matteo Grandi (substitute goalkeeper in the 2012/13 season) and sports director Werner Seeber (former sports director, general director and president of the FCS).

In the ranks of the South Tyroleans, however, it is coach Paolo Zanetti (born from Valdagno, province of Vicenza), who grew up in the youth sector of the “Lane” and spent 3 consecutive seasons (2 in Serie B and 1 in Serie A) with them professional team.

The referee: The referee of the match is Daniele Paterna from Teramo (Cataldo and Ceccon are his assistants).
