How good is FC Südtirol without its superstar Tommaso Morosini? That was the crucial question of the last few weeks. After 2 games in the new football year it is clear: So far the FCS has coped surprisingly well with the loss of Morosini (as we know he moved to Monza). The White-Reds celebrated a clear 4-1 win against bottom team Rimini on Sunday.

Simone Mazzocchi in particular delivered: The striker scored a brace within a few minutes in the first half and set the course for victory. For Mazzocchi it was the 9th and 10th goals of the season, making him the first FCS player this season to score double figures. Marco Beccaro, who was hired as Morosini's successor, also showed a solid performance in his starting debut and rewarded himself with a goal. Curious: Beccaro scored this goal just 18 seconds after the restart. A lightning double and a lightning goal ensured the clear FCS victory, and Daniele Casiraghi sealed it with a penalty. As a result, the FCS dominated the action, but a goal from Mirco Petrella was - correctly - disallowed for offside. As if out of nowhere, the bottom team from Rimini came back into the game: The home team's defense couldn't clear the ball out of the danger zone, Antonio Letizia said thank you and reduced the score to 1:2 (25th). The White and Reds' answer came after the restart when Beccaro scored after just 18 seconds from a Tait cross. After a foul on Casiraghi, there was a penalty in the 72nd minute, which the fouled man scored himself to make it 4-1.
