Mountain running talents give a taste in Laag

The penultimate youth mountain run of the season took place in Laag on Saturday. Over 100 runners from the U8 to U18 age groups took part. In addition, the youth national championship titles were awarded in the lower region.

In wonderful autumn weather, Janina Wild from ASV Deutschnofen prevailed in the U18 women's race ahead of the two Merano women Julia Gamper and Kathrin Hauser. Lilian Marie Andres won the U16 race (2,18 km) in 10.01 minutes, just ahead of Sinah Bachmann (10.07) from the Südtirol Team Club and her Merano club colleague Magdalena Pircher (10.22). Klara Alber, another SCM athlete, was also at the top of the podium in the U14 category, while Sarah Niedermayr from Kalter was the fastest in the U12 category.

There was also a Merano double victory for the U18 boys, where Aaron Gallmetzer was able to hold his own on the 2,49 km long route in 9.19 minutes ahead of David Agethle (9.34) and David Tommasini from Bolzano (11.07). Leo Pedo from the South Tyrol Team Club won the U16 competition. Meanwhile, there was a triple victory for LG Schlern in the U14: Manuel Fill won ahead of Timo Stuefer and Maximilian Fill. In the U12 race, Elias Tratter from Sarner left everyone behind. In the U10 category, the day's victory went to Franziska Vigl and Francesco Civita, while in the youngest (U8) category, Anna Cattani and Jonas Rungger took the day's victory.

The last youth mountain run of the season in Kaltern is on the program next Sunday.
