South Tyroleans impress at the regional cross country championship

At the weekend the cross regional championship took place in San Michele all'Adige in Trentino. Once again the athletes from the Meran Sports Club were able to put themselves in the spotlight.

The organizers Atletica Rotaliana were pleased to have 200 participants. Numerous South Tyrolean athletes also competed in the neighboring province. The SC Meran team was once again strongly represented. In the U20 women's competition, Anna Hofer from Rabland was crowned regional champion, ahead of Silvia Brun from Trentino and Lisa Leuprecht from Lanan (LC Bozen). In the general class, Andrea Schweigkofler - also from SC Meran - came in an excellent second place. Lisa Kerschbaumer from Tramin and Nike Frick from Merano secured second and third place respectively in the U23 class and finished fourth and fifth in the general class. In the men's race, Luca Boninsegna from Meran came sixth.

Lina Wallisch also made it onto the podium. The athlete from LC Bozen won silver in the U16 category. Lilian Marie Andres (SC Meran) landed in seventh place. For the boys, Laurin Marschall crossed the finish line in eighth place, just like U18 starter Janina Wild from ASV Deutschnofen.
