Superior victory for Höll in Leogang – Widmann in 10th place

Local hero Valentina Höll won the mountain bike downhill world cup in Leogang for the first time in a superior manner. For Veronika Widmann (Tramin) there was nothing to gain in the final.

The 21-year-old world champion Höll raced to victory in the second race of the season on Saturday, 4,3 seconds ahead of the Swiss Camille Balanche. The British Rachel Atherton, who was successful at the season opener in Switzerland, came third. For Höll, who last placed fourth in Lenzerheide, it is the fifth World Cup triumph in her elite career. Widmann finished the race in 10th place.

An Austrian also won among the men. Andreas Kolb was at the top of the podium ahead of Loic Bruni (FRAU) and Jackson Goldstone (CAN).
