Out at the final table: Holzner's poker fairy tale is over

Daniel Holzner's poker fairy tale is over. The final table of the World Series of Poker took place in Las Vegas on Monday night in Europe. The South Tyrolean was sitting at the table.

Holzner (he comes from Tscherms) sensationally made it into the final round in Las Vegas (Read more about it here). He was already guaranteed $900.000.

But in the final of the most important poker tournament in the world it was over relatively quickly. Holzner was the first player who had to give up. With that he ended the Poker World Cup, which was initially tackled by more than 10.000 players, as an outstanding ninth.

Holzner brings home around 802.000 euros. Like him in SportNewsInterview revealed, however, he will around half of it is given to the state as taxes must. Holzner was only the fourth poker player from Italy to sit at a final table at the World Series of Poker. That alone illustrates the extraordinary achievement of the Burggräfler, who is also a fruit farmer and laces up his football boots for Tscherms Marling (1st amateur league).

The event isn't over yet, as three players (all from the USA) are still in the running for the title. Steven Jones, Daniel Weinmann and Adam Walton continue to fight on Monday from 19 p.m. (CEST).
