Intense games for the badminton teams in Chiari and Sicily

South Tyrol's best tennis players were recently in action at two venues in Serie A and Serie B. Here is an overview.

Serie A in Chiari

The second round of the Serie A team championship was played at the weekend. In Chiari (Lombardy) all 10 teams met with the South Tyrolean teams from Bolzano, Meran and Mals. The following three matches were played:

SC Meran – BC Milan 0:5
SC Meran – ASV Mals 0:5
SC Meran – Marabadminton 0:5

SSV Bozen – Cittá Palermo 5:0
SSV Bozen – Modena 5:0
SSV Bozen – Piume d'Argento 5:0

ASV Mals – Brescia 4:1
ASV Mals – SC Meran 5:0
ASV Mals – Cittá di Palermo 5:0

The teams from Mals and Bolzano each achieved three wins and consolidated their top positions in the table - the first four places qualify for the play-offs for the title of the Italian team championship. The third and final team weekend will be crucial for SC Meran - it is essential to collect points in order to avoid relegation (the last two teams are relegated directly).

On the 9th-10th The final championship round of Serie A will take place in Sardinia in March.

Series B in Catania

ASV Überetsch is the only one in the south. Team in Serie B and their goal is to be promoted back to Serie A. All three matches were won in Catania - so ASV Überetsch leads in the table of Serie B - District A:
