ITF Bozen: Now the last South Tyroleans have been hit

The final days of the ITF tournament in Bolzano will take place without South Tyrolean participation. The last local representatives were eliminated on Wednesday.

Nicola Rispoli from Meran and Christian Fellin from Brixen were the only two remaining South Tyroleans at the ITF tournament in Bolzano. They had reached the quarter-finals in doubles, but had no chance against the Balzerani/Ricca duo. The defeat of 2:6, 1:6 was clear in the end.

In the first set, the South Tyroleans promptly conceded a break, then missed chances for a rebreak and had to give up the section. In the second set, Balzerani/Ricca flexed their muscles, especially in the key moments.

On Thursday the focus in Bolzano will be on the individual quarter-finals. Still there are Mathys Erhard and Alex Berrena, who are among the tournament favorites and have come through the tournament more or less confidently so far.
