Rybakina wins tournament in Rome

After numerous interruptions due to persistent rain, Jelena Rybakina from Kazakhstan won the final of the tennis tournament in Rome on Sunday night.

The Wimbledon champion benefited from the injury-related retirement of her opponent Anhelina Kalinina from Ukraine when the score was 6:4 and 1:0 after 65 minutes. Kalinina complained of pain in her left thigh.

For Rybakina, who reached the final of the Australian Open in January, it was the fifth title of her career and the second this year after her victory in Indian Wells. The 23-year-old will move up to fourth place in the world rankings.
