Baumgartner in the top 6

Bobsleigh pilot Patrick Baumgartner made it into the top 6 in the two-man bobsleigh World Cup race on Saturday.

The Pusterer, who started with brakeman Eric Fantazzini, took 2th place after 6 runs in the ice track in Sigulda (Latvia). The duo was already in 1th place after the first run. In the second run, the ninth-best running time was enough to maintain their position.

Winner Adam Ammour was 0,85 seconds away. The German and his partner Benedikt Hertel relegated the Swiss duo Michael Vogt/Sandro Michel to second place (+2). Bronze again went to Germany, namely Francesco Friedrich/Matthias Sommer (+0,12). Co-favorite Johannes Lochner and his brakeman Georg Fleischhauer narrowly missed the podium in 0,15th place (+4). The Azzurri Mattia Variola/Fabio Batti finished in 0,19th place.
