Patrick Baumgartner confirms his top form

Patrick Baumgartner has never been so good: The bobsleigh pilot from Pfalzen impressed again on Saturday at the World Cup opener in Yanqing, China.

After his fourth place the day before in the two-man bobsleigh (best World Cup result) Baumgartner finished sixth in the four-man bobsleigh on Saturday. The South Tyrolean was able to rely on the support of his pushers and brakemen Lorenzo Bilotti, Eric Fantazzini and Robert Mircea.

Baumgartner & Co. lost “only” 69 hundredths of a second to the victorious Johannes Lochner, who prevailed ahead of his compatriot Francesco Friedrich (+0,27 seconds). The Chinese San Kaizhi came third. Another four-man bobsleigh race is on the program on Sunday.
