An American woman had a serious fall.

The Tofana claims its next fall victim

The 2nd women's downhill run in Cortina is only a few minutes old - and there has already been the next high-profile fall victim.

Isabella Wright, starting number 3, had a serious fall after the delta jump and then crashed into the net. Her teammate Mikaela Shiffrin was hit in the same place and in a similar way on Friday. Only the evening before Wright had visited Shiffrin at his bedside.

On the first descent in Cortina there were numerous falls and failures, including that of Corinne Suter. The Swiss woman also had an unfortunate landing after the delta jump and tore a cruciate ligament (SportNews berichtete).

Wright (the fall can be seen in the video above) was not taken away by helicopter and taken to the hospital, but is already back in the finish area. The 26-year-old screamed in pain at first. Meanwhile the race continued. Here go to the live ticker. With start number 15, the Swiss Joana Hählen also landed unhappily after a jump and held her knee.
