In the holiday paradise: Sad ski star seeks consolation

The World Cup season is entering the home stretch. These days, the Alpine ski aces still have a lot of decisions to make. But a superstar in the scene is watching it from far away.

It's a highly emotional time for Corinne Suter. The Swiss woman tore a cruciate ligament in Cortina d'Ampezzo at the end of January and now has to take a break for months. This was a very hard blow for the downhill queen, who has already become world champion and Olympic champion in this discipline. This is also proven by a video that Suter posted on Instagram just a few days after her injury: There she let her emotions, i.e. her tears, flow freely.

While her colleagues are now approaching the big World Cup final, Suter has said goodbye to Switzerland and is letting her mind wander thousands of kilometers away. “I’m taking a break to rest my body and clear my mind,” Suter wrote on Instagram. The Swiss woman ended up in the Maldives with her boyfriend Angelo.

Corinne Suter also trains on vacation.

Water therapy and dinner on the beach

“The ocean has always been a way for me to restore my soul. So far my knee feels good, but progress is slow. “I’m happy with the little steps I take every day,” said Suter. In the holiday paradise she does a lot of water therapy, rehabilitation exercises and muscle stimulation. She also enjoys life in paradise with her boyfriend, for example with a romantic dinner on the beach.

“I'm using this break for a reset, then the rehab can begin again,” says Corinne Suter combatively. The Swiss wants to attack again next winter.
