In Bansko: Norwegians chase frontrunner Noel

After the first round of the men's slalom in Bansko (BUL), a three-way battle for victory is emerging. The Frenchman Clement Noel is in the lead.

Only 3 runners were able to deliver reasonably good times in Bansko, the rest of the field is already far behind. But: It cannot be ruled out that there will be surprises in the second round, as the slope could become significantly weaker. So Clement Noel & Co. shouldn't feel safe.

The Frenchman leads Timon Haugan by 1 hundredths after the first round. The Norwegian made good use of his starting number 27. Behind him is Henrik Kristoffersen (+1), a compatriot of Haugan. The rest of the field is already a long way behind. The Swiss Loic Meillard is in 0,38th place, 1,04 seconds late. The overall slalom leader Manuel Feller (AUT) is already 4 seconds behind.

Alex Vinatzer (1th) can be happy with his first round. The Wolkensteiner is 10 seconds behind Noel, but the time gaps are generally enormous due to the crumbling slope. The best Azzurro in the first run was Tommaso Sala (2,20th).
