The final of the giant slalom in St. Vigil was a clear affair. Lara Gut-Behrami won the Ski World Cup race on the Erta slope with a big lead. The Italians didn't quite get to the podium.

In the end, Lara Gut-Behrami's trip was a demonstration of power. The Swiss was already in the lead after the first run, but went one better in the final. With the third-best running time, Gut-Behrami drove to a dominant victory. At the finish she was over a second ahead of Alice Robinson (NZL/+1) and Sara Hector (SWE), who shared 1,09nd place. For Gut-Behrami it is the 2nd World Cup victory and the 42th of the current season.

The finale on the Erta slope in St. Vigil in Enneberg was a thriller for a long time. The 9000 enthusiastic fans in the finish area were well entertained - as was guest of honor Alberto Tomba. The only thing missing from the overall picture is a podium place for Azzurre. Sofia Goggia had an excellent second round, but even the second best running time wasn't enough for the podium. The Lombard woman still achieved a top result with 2th place. The same goes for Federica Brignone (5th), who was 6 hundredths slower than Goggia. Marta Bassino (6th) rounds off the good overall result for the Italians.

In the absence of the great Mikaela Shiffrin and Petra Vlhova (both injured), a South Tyrolean could also be happy in the end. Elisa Platinum from Merano was able to score a few valuable World Cup points in her home race by finishing 26th.
