Marlene Cup in Ratschings: These are the winners

The fact that the 2023/24 ski season is slowly but surely on the home stretch can be seen from the large number of races currently being held. The local talents were once again at the forefront and achieved great success at all levels.

On Saturday, the Marlene Cup 2023/24 in Ratschings ended with a giant slalom. In the U21 age group, Francesco Zucchini (ASV Prad), who recorded a time of 2.01,52:0,44 minutes, took the lead. Adrian Pernstich (TZ Überetsch-Unterland/+0,55) and Lukas Sieder (RG Wipptal/+2.07,50) completed the podium. Virginia Costa (Gröden) celebrated the day's victory among the young women of the same age. She completed the two rounds in XNUMX:XNUMX, half a second ahead of Riffian Bianca Gufler. Ellis Pellzizzari (also Val Gardena) came third.


The winner of the 2006-2007 vintages, however, is David Castlunger. The skier from the Alta Badia ski team won in 2.02,92:2.03,33 minutes ahead of Manuel Plieger (2.03,66:18) from Sarner and Alex Silbernagl (Seiser Alm/2.07,55:2.08,53). Castlunger's teammate Rita Granruaz won the U2.08,70 female race with a time of XNUMX:XNUMX. Leonie Girtler (XNUMX) and Eva Sophia Blasbichler (both RG Wipptal/XNUMX) flanked Granruaz at the award ceremony.

Many medals at the Italian Championships

The competition week began on Tuesday with a victory for Emanuel Lamp in one of two FIS Super-Gs in Bardonecchia. The state squad athlete from ASC Gsiesertal naturally also won the Gran Premio Italia Dicoflor ranking. On the same day, the first day of the Italian Championships in the U16 and U14 age groups was scheduled for Andalo. South Tyrol's young talent also won three medals on the first day of the competition. In the U16 category, Christian Kostner from Val Gardena was crowned U16 Italian champion in the giant slalom in Andalo, while rider Victoria Klotz won the silver medal among young women of the same age. In the U14 age group, Francesca Miribung (Ski Team Alta Badia) also took second place in the Super-G.

24 hours later, Pascal Kostner (Gröden) became Italian runner-up in the giant slalom in the U14 age group, while Amy Happacher (Drei Zinnen) took third place among the girls of the same age. On Thursday, Happacher became the Italian Slalom Champion and also won gold in the Alpine Combined. The title fights in Trentino came to an end on Friday with a South Tyrolean double victory in the women's U16 slalom by Arianna Putzer (Gröden/1st) and Victoria Klotz (Ritten Sport/2nd), who also competed in the Alpine combined in the same order Gold and silver clawed. Carmen Gschliesser (RG Wipptal) finally came third in the U14 ski cross and thus won another medal for South Tyrol.


Zucchini U21 Italian champion in giant slalom

Sestriere, on the other hand, was the venue for the U21 Italian Championships. Here Francesco Zucchini was crowned Italian giant slalom champion on Thursday. With the fastest time in the decision, he gained eleven positions and won gold in the end. He also won the Gran Premio Italia Dicoflor. In the slalom, which took place a day later, Zucchini became Italian runner-up, but prevailed in the Gran Premio Italia classification. In the U18 classification (Gran Premio Italia) victory went to Jonas Feichter.

The U18 racers also had successes in the Gran Premio Italia series last week. Eva Sophia Blasbichler (RG Wipptal) took second place in a slalom in Bardonecchia, while Nora Pernstich (TZ Überetsch-Unterland) finished the race in third place.

Emanuel Lamp also won another giant slalom among the men on Friday in Ratschings on the day before the Marlene Cup race, while Hanna Bachmann (Tramin) achieved the best time among the young women.


Masters choose their national champions

In the Ultental and more precisely on the Kircheler piste, the Raiffeisen South Tyrol Cup of the Masters came to an end on Saturday.
