After the operation: Marco Schwarz with a sharp swipe

Marco Schwarz's serious injury has been the dominant topic in the ski scene over the last few days. Now the Austrian has allowed himself to be carried away with a swipe.

What a hard blow this is for Ski Austria: Marco Schwarz has to end his season early because of a torn cruciate ligament. This means that the dream of the overall World Cup has evaporated for the time being: “Blacky” would have been Marco Odermatt’s toughest competitor this year.

On New Year's Eve, Schwarz spoke out on social media for the first time. “Thank you very much for the nice news,” he wrote alongside a photo that shows him in front of the Hochrum private clinic, where the Austrian was operated on. The comeback is starting now, said Schwarz, who also had a swipe ready. “PS: To the experts: I would do everything exactly the same,” said Schwarz, who also added an ironic kiss emoji.

It is clear to whom this sentence is addressed: In the past few days, several ski experts have spoken out and criticized Schwarz's intensive program. “In my opinion, the trainers are complicit in Marco’s injury because they have placed too little emphasis on his body’s recovery in the last few months,” said ski legend Marc Girardelli View.

Felix Neureuther was in the same vein: “I said to journalists after the descent in Val Gardena that Schwarz should forego the races in Bormio in order to recharge his batteries for the classics in January.” But Schwarz is fully behind the program that he is has unwound. And he will now do everything to come back successfully.
