Never-tired Odermatt: “Looking forward to the Christmas break”

After 5 races in the last 5 days, even the hardest bones in the Ski World Cup are out of breath. But while Marco Schwarz is still traveling to Madonna di Campiglio (Friday), the Swiss Marco Odermatt can look forward to the break.

Marco Odermatt (1st place): “Being last in a giant slalom is always a fight, that’s part of it. When you reach the finish line with a win, you can enjoy it. It's a lot of hard work. In every race you start from scratch and a lot can go wrong. Now I’m looking forward to the Christmas break.”

Marco Black (2nd place): “I’m looking forward to a day’s break. I'm feeling very good physically, which makes me very positive. Downhill runs are more mentally demanding, but the giant slaloms are even more physically demanding. It's a brutal change from the speed disciplines to a giant slalom. “It makes you gasp a lot more.”

Giovanni Borsotti (9th place): “It's been far too long since I was in the top 10 (2015; editor's note). I needed such a top result to keep me motivated. I ski well, but the results didn't show it. I’m leaving Alta Badia with a lot of confidence in the tasks ahead.”

Filippo Della Vite (13th place): “I did a good second run. I need a little more self-confidence, then the good results will come.”

Alex Vinatzer (21st place): “The goal this season is to get into the top 30 in the giant slalom. I could have already achieved that. In this discipline it is important to be consistent. I want to develop further step by step.”
