Bad luck on the slopes, lucky in love

It was only a few months ago when he announced with a heavy heart that he was ending his career - immediately before the home World Cup in Courchevel. Now a former ski star from France experienced some of the best hours of his life.

Brice Roger's bad luck with injuries stuck to his ski boots for years. The gifted speed specialist, who made it onto the podium twice in his 106 World Cup appearances, suffered four serious knee injuries, including two cruciate ligament tears within a few months in 2021. Ultimately that was too much, and so he announced his resignation at the beginning of February.

While his French compatriots competed for World Championship medals in Courchevel, Roger had to watch and distance himself from everything. Now the 32-year-old can laugh again - which also has to do with his private happiness.

Roger has said yes to his Alison. The long-time couple, who have been engaged since spring 2022, celebrated their wedding in a residence on Lac du Bourget in the French Alps with families, friends and long-time companions. A new, joyful phase of life begins for the former unlucky skier Brice Roger.
