Nicole Ploner and Rita Granruaz caused a sensation.

Podium places abound at the Gran Premio Italia

South Tyrol's ski talents made people take notice last week with several top placings at national level.

Marc Comploj (Gröden) took third place in a giant slalom at Abetone, which is part of the Gran Premio Italia, while Francesco Zucchini (Prad) took fifth place. In another giant slalom, Jonas Feichter took victory in the U18 age group and also took first place in his category in the slalom the next day. Alex Silbernagl celebrated another category victory (U18) in a second slalom in the Tuscan ski area.

In Pila the young women competed in the fast disciplines. There were two downhill runs and a Super-G. In both descents, Rita Granruaz achieved the second fastest overall time and won the Gran Premio Italia classification. In the Super-G, the 17-year-old from Abtei achieved the fifth fastest time and took third place in the GPI ranking. Nicole Ploner from Val Gardena achieved second place in the GPI rankings in both downhill runs (11th and 4th overall time), while the 20-year-old from Selva came second overall in the Super-G and the Gran Premio Italia Rating won.

Jonas Feichter pointed out.

At the state level, three races had to be canceled. The two ski cross competitions for the Raiffeisen Grand Prix State Cup at the Rinneralm in Ratschings could not be held, nor could the Pfiff Toys Children's Cup in Meran 2000.
