Ski star had a hard time in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Bad scenes: Swiss ski star screams in pain

The descent in Cortina d'Ampezzo causes the next bad scene: after Mikaela Shiffrin, another ski star has been hit hard.

What's going on with this descent in Cortina d'Ampezzo? The race on the Tofana had to be interrupted several times because athletes were injured. Caused the first shock Mikaela Shiffrin, who crashed into the safety net after jumping and had to be transported away by helicopter. A little later the next big name hit.

Corinne Suter, reigning Olympic downhill champion, hit the same spot as Shiffrin. She also landed poorly after the long jump, then promptly braked and grabbed her knee. The screams of pain that could be heard on TV do not bode well. Suter was first brought off the slopes by sleigh and then transported away by helicopter.

On Friday evening, the Swiss Ski Association announced that Suter had been seriously injured. Austrian Cornelia Hütter said at the finish: “The conditions are pretty aggressive and the waves are further.” Click here for the report from the race.
