Too much fresh snow: No Super-G in Val di Fassa

The women's World Cup race in Val di Fassa had to be canceled on Saturday. The same fate befell the Super-G, which was scheduled for Sunday at 11 a.m.

The reason for the cancellations is the amount of fresh snow that has fallen in the last few days. Because the slope is not in ideal condition, the organizers and the FIS have decided to cancel the second Super-G in Val di Fassa.

No racing was possible in the Dolomites on Saturday. The hope was actually that by canceling the first event on Saturday, we would have more time to prepare the slopes on Sunday. The plan didn't work.

Battle for Crystal remains open

The Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami is missing a great opportunity to extend her lead in the overall standings (1414 points) over the still-paused Mikaela Shiffrin from the USA (1209) and to ensure a possible preliminary decision before the last races of the season. In the discipline ranking, Gut-Behrami (360) is leading the Austrian Cornelia Hütter (355) with two races to go.
