Italian Championship: Many medals for South Tyrol's snowboarders

The Italian Snowboard Championships took place in Villnöß on Thursday and Friday. Daniele Bagozza won the gold medal.

Daniele Bagozza is the Italian parallel slalom champion. The man from Val Gardena finished the race in Villnöß on Friday in 2nd place, but in the final he lost to the German Ole-Mikkel Prantl. However, this does not count towards the Italian championship ranking, so Bagozza gets the gold medal. Behind the South Tyrolean, Mirko Felicetti (2nd) and Edwin Coratti (3rd/Langtaufers) landed on the podium. Bagozza was already able to celebrate on Thursday. He secured bronze in the parallel giant slalom. Bagozza prevailed in the small final against veteran Roland Filehner. The Italian championship title went to Mirko Felicetti, while Maurizio Bormolini took silver.

For the women, Lucia Dalmasso won the day in the parallel giant slalom and was thus also crowned Italian champion. Jasmin Coratti, who took 5th place and was therefore the second best Azzurra, was awarded silver. Bronze went to Elisa Caffont. In the race itself, Ladina Jenny (SUI) and Cheyenne Loch (GER) took 2nd and 3rd place. In the parallel slalom race on Friday, however, there were no foreign athletes who made it into the top 3. Gold went to Dalmasso again. Coratti from Langtaufer took silver, Elisa Fava came third.
