After the final siren, the celebration among the Pochi players knew no bounds.

The big Buchholz broomball triumph

The broomball season ended on Friday evening in the WürthArena in front of full spectators. In a thrilling final and purely Unterlander duel, Pochi '89 and last year's finalist Vikings Leifers faced each other.

For the first time in 13 years, Pochi became Italy's broomball champion. In front of hundreds of fans and onlookers, the Buchholzers won an exciting, rousing final 2-1.

Both teams started stormy and quickly looked for the lucky punch. However, it took until the 15th minute of the game before Telch gathered his courage and fired a long shot that completely took the Leifer goalkeeper by surprise and made it 1-0 for Pochi. While the Buchholzers retreated with the lead behind them, the Leifers released themselves from their state of shock and tightened the yellow-black team's hold on the defensive third. Finally Strobl redeemed the Vikings and scored to make it 1-1. The game was open again with 17 minutes left to play.

Leifers concentrated again on defense and countered deliberately, but Veronesi in the Buchholzer box left nothing to be desired.
In the 10th minute of the second half, Telch again appeared in front of goalkeeper Foini and scored with a deflected shot into the near corner - 2-1! Pochi and the yellow and black followers in the stands freaked out. Leifers tried every means possible to equalize and even played with “Empty Net”, but all the effort didn’t help. The championship title could no longer be taken away from Pochi.

Neumarkt takes third place

In the game for third place, BC Neumarkt beat BC Gherdeina 3-2 on penalties. After a goalless draw, Pallabazzer and Steiner scored from the spot and secured the bronze medal for last year's winner.
