TOBOGGANING: Just missed the podium! Italy's toboggan relay team with South Tyroleans Dominik Fiwickeler, Ivan Nagler/Fabian Malleier, Sandra Robatscher and Andrea Vötter/Marion Oberhofer missed the medal they were aiming for at the World Championships in Altenberg. In the end it came in 4th place. Gold went to Germany, silver went to the USA and Latvia secured the bronze medal. The 2024 Luge World Championships are now history.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING:
The World Cup weekend in Goms (Switzerland) ended on Sunday with the mass starts. There was a favorite victory for both women and men: Tour de Ski winner Jessica Diggins was unbeatable over 15 kilometers of freestyle. The American won the finish sprint ahead of the Swede Frida Karlsson. Local hero Nadine Fähndrich completed the podium. No Italian woman made it into the top 30. The men's race was also decided in the finish sprint. The Norwegian Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo relegated his compatriot Simon Hegstad Krüger to second place. Twelve seconds behind, the Frenchman Jules Lapierre celebrated third place. Elia Barp came in a strong seventh place as the best Azzurro.

SKI JUMPING: Slovenia won the team competition at the Ski Flying World Championships on Kulm. Peter Prevc & Co. prevailed against Austria (2nd) and Germany (3rd). Italy around Alex Insam could not field a team.

NORDIC COMBINATION:
Jarl Magnus Riiber won the Gundersen in Schonach (GER). The Norwegian triumphed ahead of his compatriot Jörgen Graabak and the Austrian Stefan Rettenegger. Samuel Costa (Wolkenstein) finished the race in 21st place, three positions behind Aaron Kostner (St. Ulrich). In the women's race, victory went to Ida Marie Hagen (NOR), ahead of her compatriots Mari Leinan Lund and Gyda Westvold Hansen. Daniela Dejori (St. Christina) made it into the top 10 in tenth place.

Patrick Baumgartner achieved a good result at the four-man bobsleigh World Cup in Lillehammer. With his teammates Eric Fantazzini, Robert Mircea and Lorenzo Bilotti, the South Tyrolean came in 5th place. The siblings Jasmin and Edwin Coratti finished 3th as Team Italy 6 in the team competition in Simonhöhe (AUT). Daniele Bagozza and his partner Lucia Dalmasso came in 9th. Austria 1 (with Andreas Prommegger and Sabine Schöffmann) won ahead of Switzerland 2 (Dario Caviezel/Ladina Jenny) and Germany 1 (Elias Huber/Ramona Hofmeister).

Simone Deromedis achieved his first World Cup victory in St. Moritz. So far, a 2nd place in Veyonnaz (SUI) had been the Trentino native's best result. On Sunday, Deromedis prevailed ahead of Alex Fiva (SUI) and Youri Duplessis-Kergomard (FRA). Dominik Gunsch (Lana) and Yanick Gunsch (Taufers) were eliminated in the round of XNUMX.

Ski jumping talent Nika Prevc won her home competition in Ljubno. The Slovenian triumphed ahead of Eva Pinkelnig (AUT) and Nika Kriznar (SLO). The best Italian was Annika Sieff in 16th place. Lara Malsiner finished the competition in 26th place, her sister Jessica Malsiner took 29th place.
